Hard-headed: Callers reported a possible overdose in the 400 block of North Fifth Street Friday, but when police arrived the woman was awake, alert and didn’t require Narcan, police said. She denied using drugs, but witnesses advised she’d been stumbling around and had fallen twice, hitting her head off the concrete. Officers couldn’t determine if she was intoxicated, so Steubenville firefighters/EMS transported her to Trinity West for treatment.

Obvious: A Maxwell Avenue resident said three men pulled up in front of her residence Friday, and one of them brandished a firearm in her face. She said she was sitting on her porch when it happened, and told police one of the intruders made a comment about her being rude to his grandma, pulled a gun out of a fanny pack and pointed it at her and threatened to kill her. She said the thinks it stems from an ongoing issue with her landlady.

Pushy: A woman called 9-1-1 claiming to be having a panic attack on Seventh Street at Ross Avenue, Saturday. The woman told police her house had burned down and Hancock County authorities had dropped her off at Martha Manor but she didn’t want to be there. Police agreed to take her hospital, but about a half-hour later they were called to remove her from the property because she was causing a disturbance and had refused medical treatment. She told police she no longer wanted to be at the hospital because the staff wouldn’t let her shower, and requested a ride to Weirton, to which they complied.

Familiar face: Police were asked to check on a man who was lying in a parking lot in the 200 block of North Seventh Street Friday, but when they got there he was standing up and told them he was fine.

Time to stop: A Steubenville woman was taken into custody on a drunken driving charge following a traffic stop Saturday in the 200 block of North Sixth Street. Jillian Guzik, 35, 3109 Central Ave., was charged with OVI and cited for expired plates and driving on an OVI suspension, police said. Guzik was spotted traveling east on Sunset Boulevard “at a very high rate of speed.” Police allege her eyes were bloodshot and glossy and she smelled of alcohol, and claim she told them she’d had three beers and that she had two prior OVIs. Guzik allegedly claimed she was rushing downtown to locate a family member who’d messaged her about harming himself, so police searched for the individual to ensure his safety and had found him at his home, sleeping. Police said Guzik became “very argumentative” when she was advised of the charges they’d filed against her, at one point grabbing an ink pen and holding it behind her back and another, throwing herself on the jail floor.

Too much party: Police responded to Langley Avenue Saturday after receiving a report of individuals yelling at each other. Once on scene, a passerby pointed them to a field behind the stadium and said a large fight had just taken place in the empty field. As they drove down the street police said a large crowd dispersed, some on foot and others in cars. An individual living in the area said he’d had a party “when a few guys decided they wanted to have a fight, so he told them to go out into the field.” Police told him to keep the noise down.

No signs: Police checked the 2300 block of Chestnut Street and the surrounding area Friday after a report was received of shots fired, but officers were unable to locate evidence or witnesses.

Rough: A pedestrian and a car collided Friday at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Wilshire Avenue. The driver told police she was making a left onto Wilshire when the pedestrian walked into her vehicle, while the pedestrian said he was walking across Wilshire and was struck by the car. Police said there was a minor dent on the hood of the car, and the pedestrian complained of pain to his left elbow and a headache.

Cited: Alysa H. Wentz, 27, 801 Oakmont Ave., Steubenville, hit-skip. Wentz allegedly clipped the rear bumper of a vehicle in the turning lane at the Lincoln Avenue-Wilson Avenue intersection, then fled the scene.

Cited: Nicholas S. Reiner, 29, 180 N. Fourth St., Apt. 304, Steubenville, expired plates. Police said they noticed the car had no license plate and when they pulled the driver over, he told them the driver in front of him had the plates at his house and that’s where they were headed when he was stopped. A tow truck was called after police realized the plates were expired, and in the meantime the other driver arrived and initially claimed he didn’t know Reiner had taken the car and said the plates must have “flew off” . After police told him what Reiner had said and he remembered he was in front of him and that he knew he was driving the car.

Kids talk: A resident in the 300 block of Scenic Drive reported hearing a loud noise Friday, and when police investigated a group of kids told them they’d thrown a rock at a nearby parking sign. Police had them remove the rocks from the roadway and advised them to stop throwing them.

Jumped: A Pennsylvania Avenue resident told police he was jumped by four or five males in a parking lot in the 4100 block of Sunset Boulevard, Saturday. Police said he had several cuts on his face.

Help needed: A Carnegie Street resident was harassing doctors on a mental health help line, Saturday. Police advised the man if he was going to call the hotline, he is not to scream at its employees.

Too much: A possible overdose was reported in the 500 block of Linden Avenue Saturday. Police said the man was unresponsive until he was given Narcan. After he was alert he told police he’d smoked crack, so they gave him a drug treatment form and he was transported to Trinity West for treatment.

Let him go: A Leetonia woman told deputies her boyfriend jumped out of her car during an argument in Tiltonsville Sunday. She said they were on their way home when he became highly agitated and started throwing food around inside the vehicle, making it hard for her to see where she was going. She said she pulled over and he got out, threw more food and walked away, carrying two backpacks and wearing a handgun on his hip. She wasn’t sure what she was allowed to do, and deputies told her as long as the car she was driving belonged to her she could go home, which she did. Deputies couldn’t find the male.

Love gone wrong: A Steubenville man needed police help getting his phone back from his now ex-girlfriend Saturday. He told deputies the two of them had been dating and he’d stayed with her for the past two weeks but hadn’t officially moved in, until Friday when he’d stayed at his sister’s. The girlfriend thought he was cheating on her and told him to pack his things and leave. As he was headed to the door she demanded her key, and when he told her he didn’t have it, she went through his pockets. When she didn’t find the key she took his phone and told him he could have it back when he returned the key. He told deputies he wasn’t interested in filing charges as long as he got his phone. She told deputies she wasn’t giving the phone back until she had the key because she feared he would break in and steal her things, but they told her the phone and keys weren’t pawns in their breakup. She finally gave the phone to the deputy, then told him she was going to buy a new door knob so his key wouldn’t work.

Problems via TikTok: A Richmond woman said someone on TikTok told her he’d deposited $3,500 into her bank account Saturday and he wanted it back, and when she froze the account so her bank could investigate he bombarded her with threats. She told deputies she wasn’t aware of the deposit until he told her and doesn’t know how he got her banking information. The bank told her the deposit was made through CashApp and the deposit had her name attached to it.

Pointless: A Mt. Pleasant resident reported someone spray painted graffiti on a vehicle Saturday.

Bad choice: Two toddlers were spotted playing with a broom in the middle of Maple Avenue in Dillonvale Saturday. The mother wasn’t home and the father had dozed off, leaving the eldest, aged 3, to open the door so the two of them could go out to play.

Charged: Michael G. Northcraft, 49, 294 Township Road 457, Irondale, weapons under disability, Friday.
